The filter bar

One strip above every project view: a search field and a filter per thing worth filtering by. It is the fastest way from "somewhere in this project" to the two tasks you meant.

What you get

  • Search over title, summary, task id and external reference. Cmd+F puts the cursor in it.
  • Version — only the tasks aimed at one release.
  • Type — feature, change, bug, research.
  • Status — one lane of the status lifecycle.
  • Member — whose tasks you are looking at, on a project with a team.
  • Epics — hide the epics and their subtasks show up as ordinary tasks instead.
  • Tags — the project tags, when the project has any.

How it behaves

  • Filters combine: a version and a type narrow each other down.
  • The same filters apply to the board and the roadmap, not only the list.
  • A filter that cannot mean anything in the current view is not shown — the tags filter is hidden in All projects, because a tag belongs to a single project.
  • An active filter is visible on its button, so a view that looks empty never leaves you guessing why.
